As Rather Labs worked on the Hatom Protocol, they encountered significant challenges in connecting to the Bittensor blockchain:
- Unreliable Public Endpoints: Public RPC endpoints proved to be unstable and slow
- Frequent WebSocket Disconnections: Frequent disconnections caused delays and missed blocks
- Limited Access: Archive access to historical transactions wasn’t available on the public endpoints
